The
formation
of
Teesside Cat Club
Teesside
Cat Club was formed in 1975 in the living room of one of three friends.
These
ladies were Gwynneth Mason, Angela Slaid, and Pat Edgecombe.
They had
a common interest in cats and their welfare, both pedigree and non-pedigree.
They
decided to contact other cat loving acquaintances and from there the cat club
grew.
After
running the compulsory Sanction Shows, Teesside Cat Club ran its first All
Breeds Championship Show at Thornaby Sports Pavilion on Saturday 23rd August
1980.
There
were 278 pedigree cats entered and 20 household pets.
Some of
the Judges present on that day are still judging for Teesside Cat Club today,
some of
the original exhibitors are still supporting Teesside by entering their
treasured cats
and kittens
into our annual Show, 2008 being our 28th All Breeds Championship Show.
